A European Distribution Footprint
implementing a competitive and responsive network
Cisco’s Global Repair Network stands as a linchpin in the company’s commitment to delivering unparalleled service and product reliability. In the dynamic realm of technology, where network infrastructure plays a pivotal role, the significance of a robust repair and supply chain network cannot be overstated. Cisco’s Global Repair Network is a strategic framework meticulously designed to ensure the continued functionality of its extensive range of networking solutions.
A reliable supply chain and repair facilities are imperative for Cisco to meet the evolving needs of its global clientele. In the face of technological advancements, network failures, or unexpected issues, the ability to swiftly diagnose, repair, and replace components is crucial. Cisco’s commitment to maintaining a global repair network underscores its dedication to minimizing downtime, enhancing operational efficiency, and ultimately safeguarding the investments of its customers.
Talking about global. Building a responsive and efficient network at Cisco.
This introduction sets the stage for a deeper exploration into how Cisco’s proactive approach to supply chain resilience and repair capabilities contributes to the overall reliability and success of its technology solutions.
In this project we supported Cisco in developing a strategic roadmap of their global supply chain infrastructure by modeling an simulating numerous scenario to prepare for the challenges ahead. When discussing a truly global footprint, this serves as an excellent example. In collaboration with Cisco Global Repair, we undertook an ambitious project aimed at developing a strategic network roadmap to systematically optimize the global collection and repair structure.
This network deals with high-quality high-tech products such as routers, switches, and even IP phones. These products are leased by customers, and in the event of a malfunction, a replacement product must be delivered as quickly as possible. The defective product is then repaired and, if possible, reintroduced to the market. Cisco’s products play a crucial role in the network, communication, and information technology of their customers. Due to the indispensability of these products, the service level to the customer must be exceptionally high, with a very short response time.
Our task was to first comprehensively map out this network and develop a model capable of evaluating a range of scenarios. Subsequently, we worked alongside the Cisco team to build the knowledge and expertise necessary to conduct these types of analyses independently in the future.”
In this project we used a set of supply chain network models to simulate the different scenario’s and simulate the performance and lead-times: Simulation module of our Spanning Tree platform, Multi-echelon inventory optimization and costs database.
